Teroldego Rotaliano 2009
Azienda Agricola Betta Luigino
of Dea Elmi
Corso 4 Novembre 54, Mezzocorona (TN)
denomination: Doc - Denominazione di origine controllata
type: Rosso
grapes: Teroldego
alcool: 13%º
price: Approximately €14 euros
This wine was gifted to me by a dear friend, I asked him to sell me some Teroldego he makes and he said he didn’t but that he would send me a couple of bottles from his own personal cellar. Deeply inky violet, almost an eggplant blue black in the glass, the perfume is intense, violets, blueberries and wild blackberries. In the mouth it fresh, easily quaffed thanks to its acidity and brightness, a lush, fruity wine. The concentrated dark stone fruit and black cherry flavors and aromas are offset by a smokey and herb like bitter edge with faint almond and vanilla notes. It is marked by a particularly fine acidic balance and complexity, and restrained oak contact rounds that out its structure. We had this at lunch today with a simple nutloaf for me as I’m mostly vegetarian and cotolette alla palermitana for my husband, and then we had radicchio salad and a plate of sicilian cheeses. I am profoundly in love with many small production Trentino wines, and this was no exception. Thank you SuperMario (you know who you are :) for your generous gift! :) Dea.
