Les Delices

missvickywine:

I’ve bumped into this passionate and dramatic video of Piper Heidsieck by Christian Louboutin. For a moment my morning fast work speed took a break, I was a very special bubble of Champagne.

Piper Heidsieck is a Champagne I’m lucky enough to drink regularly. Each time, I’m surprised and delighted. The 2004 Brut Vintage stood up out of many in a 15 bottles Champagne tastings I held a few weeks ago. So yes, Piper-Heidsieck is a top Champagne brand.

You shall remember the name of Regis Camus, Sparkling wine maker of the year 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011 that helped the brand stoop up.

Congrats Régis! And you there: get you glass of Piper-Heidsieck!

Sillly wine notes generator

I think I may have found the funniest wine web page online, for me anyway.

I happen to have a very silly sense of humor and this site is hilarious!

20 Wine Predictions for 2012

Interesting article with wine sales predictions. Pretty bullish all told. California and Australia producers need to get more invested in the game, communication-wise and it will happen and involve me. My own lil prediction. :)

Buon anno and salute!

Teroldego Rotaliano 2009
Azienda Agricola Betta Luigino
of Dea Elmi
Corso 4 Novembre 54, Mezzocorona (TN)
denomination: Doc - Denominazione di origine controllata
type: Rosso
grapes: Teroldego
alcool: 13%º
price: Approximately €14 euros
This wine was gifted to me by a dear friend, I asked him to sell me some Teroldego he makes and he said he didn’t but that he would send me a couple of bottles from his own personal cellar. Deeply inky violet, almost an eggplant blue black in the glass, the perfume is intense, violets, blueberries and wild blackberries. In the mouth it fresh, easily quaffed thanks to its acidity and brightness, a lush, fruity wine. The concentrated dark stone fruit and black cherry flavors and aromas are offset by a smokey and herb like bitter edge with faint almond and vanilla notes. It is marked by a particularly fine acidic balance and complexity, and restrained oak contact rounds that out its structure. We had this at lunch today with a simple nutloaf for me as I’m mostly vegetarian and cotolette alla palermitana for my husband, and then we had radicchio salad and a plate of sicilian cheeses. I am profoundly in love with many small production Trentino wines, and this was no exception. Thank you SuperMario (you know who you are :) for your generous gift! :) Dea.
